Unlike many builders, who attempt to adjust for rising supply costs by raising prices for their services, we provide transparent pricing for all of our supplies so that you can make informed decisions based on your budget and build a home you’ll love for decades to come without sacrificing on quality or craftsmanship.
Step 1: Initial Meeting
The first step in building your dream home with us is an initial meeting. During this meeting, we’ll discuss your budget, preferences, timeline, and vision for your custom home, listening carefully to your needs and answering any questions you may have.
This conversation helps us develop an approximate budget, scope, and plan for your project and gives you a good understanding of the costs involved in building your new home.
Step 2: Designing Your Custom Home
Heuer Homes will then guide you through the design process. You’ll work closely with our draftsperson to develop a custom floor plan that matches your vision, meets your needs, and matches your lifestyle and tastes. The length of this process varies, as our team hones our drawings to perfectly capture your concept for the perfect home.
Step 3: Obtain Estimates & Finalize Design Elements
Once you’ve signed off on the blueprints, we will obtain estimates from qualified subcontractors for the construction of your home. Be prepared to comb through estimates for everything from concrete for your home’s foundation to lighting design and fixture installation. During this phase, you will make your design selections for paint color and texture, flooring, finish colors and materials, and more.
Step 4: Finalize Your Budget
Once you’ve picked everything out, we’ll update the budget and present you with the final price for your custom home! At this point, you’ll sign off on the budget by signing your construction contract. Once we have your signature in hand, it’s off to the races or, in this case, the permit office to cross a few pre-construction items off our to-do list.
Step 5: And now we wait… (on your permits)
Once we’ve submitted your permit application, the permitting process can take up to four weeks. This is largely dependent on the speed at which your municipality verifies you’ve met all the requirements for building in their jurisdiction. During this time, you will consult with our Design Manager to make any additional selections that won’t impact the price of your build.
Step 6: Construction
Ready, set, go! As soon as we’ve received your approved permit, we’ll mobilize to break ground on your new home. We invite you to be part of the process and stop by regularly to watch your home take shape. You’ll also get access to track our progress in BuilderTrend, our project management software. At various points, you can expect to do a walkthrough with our team to ensure our work lives up to your expectations, every step of the way.
Step 7: Welcome Home!
After months of waiting, the day you’ve been dreaming about has finally arrived! Get ready to be amazed as you see the vision you had in mind brought to life. We pride ourselves on our craftsmanship and attention to detail and complete walkthroughs with every homeowner to ensure the finished product meets their expectations. You can expect to do a pre-move in walkthrough with our team to create a final punch list that we are happy to take care of. The last thing to do is hand you the keys and wish you well in your new home!
